«Атака лёгкой бригады» (The Charge of the Light Brigade) — стихотворение Альфреда Теннисона, написанное в 1854 году. Посвящено атаке легкой кавалерийской бригады под Балаклавой во время Крымской войны. На момент создания стихотворения Теннисон являлся поэтом-лауреатом Великобритании.
Стихотворение, опубликованное 9 декабря 1854 года в британской газете «The Examiner»[2], воспевает атакующую бригаду, при этом оплакивая бессмысленность той атаки. Теннисон, согласно воспоминаниям его внука, написал его через несколько минут после того, как прочёл сообщение о сражении в газете «The Times». Как поэт-лауреат, он часто писал стихи о крупных событиях. Поэма сразу же стала очень популярна, и стала известна даже среди солдат в Крыму. Это стихотворение и сейчас входит в школьную программу в Англии.
В 1890 Редьярд Киплинг написал стихотворение Последние из лёгкой бригады, в котором обыгрывается дальнейшее развитие сюжета (спустя тридцать шесть лет после события) поэмы Альфреда Теннисона. В нём последние выжившие ветераны упрекают 80-летнего Теннисона в отсутствии продолжения рассказа об их тяжелой судьбе на родине в старости.
