Talk:Facebook

Hi, can we mention in the controversies section about the claims that social media companies were pressured by the Israeli government to censor any content highlighting the atrocities by Israel? And complicit by preventing pro-Palestine content?

Why are only two of the co-founders credited? What about Chris Hughes and Dustin Moskovitz? You can't just rewrite history — Preceding unsigned comment added by 204.97.104.30 (talkcontribs)

Founders should include all these :- Mark Zuckerberg Eduardo Saverin Andrew McCollum Dustin Moskovitz Chris Hughes Only the first two names are listed. Could somebody fix this ? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.26.173.230 (talk) 10:04, 2 December 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

To add to the article Block (Internet) (and possibly here as well) is about blocks for violating policies (which is apparently called Facebook jail) as opposed to blocks that anyone can make for any reason that are reciprocal. The question that I have (which needs a source) is who can preform the "privileged user" blocks namely things like preventing them from sending friend requests/posting or contacting anyone(as opposed to individual users who have blocked them). I remember someone posting something about the fact they had been blocked from posting or similar. I expect it is done by Facebook staff (I don't know as I've never been blocked there) as I don't think like us they have volunteers with admin privileges but a source is needed for the article. My understanding indeed is this kind of blocking is like site and partial blocks on Wikipedia in that a user with privileges can block a user who violates policies but they must have a valid reason to do so and they normally have no notify them and both parties can discuss. This is very different to the "normal"blocking on Facebook where anyone can block anyone (apart from people they have unblocked less than 48 hours ago) for any reason and such blocking is reciprocal and the software tries to make it difficult for people to know they have been blocked and the person isn't notified, the closest thing here may bemuting.
