Talk:Person of color

The article opens stating that 'The term "person of color"... is primarily used to describe any person who is not considered "white".' Okay, so it means non-white. However, the article also states that 'The term emphasizes common experiences of systemic racism'. In that case it does not simply mean non-white. You can bring this conflict out with an example: Is a rural Chinese peasant a 'person of color'? They are obviously non-white, yet they will have experienced no 'systemtic racism' to speak of. The same is true of almost all non-white people before about the year 1500. So if such people are a 'person of color', then the term does not necessarily 'emphasize common experiences of systemtic racism'. On the other hand, if they are not a 'person of color',then the term obviously does not refer to non-white people but only a subsection. Thoughts?LastDodo (talk) 16:47, 28 July 2021 (UTC)
