Министерство энергетики является правительство Индии министерство . Нынешний государственный министр Союза (независимый представитель) - Радж Кумар Сингх . На министерство возложен надзор за производством электроэнергии и развитием инфраструктуры, включая генерацию, передачу и доставку, а также за проектами технического обслуживания.
Министерство действует как связующее звено между центральным правительством и государственными электроэнергетическими предприятиями, а также с частным сектором . Министерство также курирует проекты электрификации сельских районов .
Министерство энергетики стало министерством 2 июля 1992 года во время правления П.В. Нарасимхи Рао . [2] До этого это был отдел (Департамент энергетики) Министерства энергетики, угля и нетрадиционных источников энергии. Это министерство было разделено на Министерство энергетики, Министерство угля и Министерство нетрадиционных источников энергии ( в 2006 году переименовано в Министерство новой и возобновляемой энергетики ).
В 2012 году Министерство энергетики открыло проект Smart Grid в Пудучерри . [3]
