This article says that atheistic existentialism is best exemplified by Nietzsche, Jean-Paul Sartre and Martin Heidegger. This is confusing, as Heidegger himself denied that he was an existentialist, although his philosophy often gets associated with this school of philosophy. It could also be pointed out that although Heidegger's philosophy was atheistic, Heidegger rejected the label "atheist" to describe his philosophy.
