Centrorhynchidae - семейство паразитических червей. Было обнаружено, что три вида этих тернистых червей из рода Centrorhynchus паразитируют на хищных птицах и совах Словакии. Эти хозяева включают Buteo buteo , Buteo rufinus , Falco tinnunculus , Asio otus , Strix aluco , Strix uralensis и Tyto alba . [1]

C. nahuelhuapensis был обнаружен в кишечнике рыжоногой совы ( Strix rufipes ) в Патагонии , Аргентина . Хоботок вооружен 31–33 рядами крючков, по 16 или 17 крючков в ряду. Крючки в каждом ряду делятся на 5 настоящих, 4 переходных и 7–8 шиповидных. Имеет три цементных железы. Червь имеет нитевидное тело. Филогенетический анализ был проведен с использованием малых и больших рибосомных субъединиц, подтверждающих отнесение этого вида к роду Centrorhynchus. [4]
