Топографическая высота - это расстояние по вертикали над опорным геоидом , математической моделью уровня моря Земли как эквипотенциальной гравитационной поверхности. Топографическая значимость вершины - это разница в высоте между этой вершиной и самым высоким или ключевым перевалом более высокой вершины. Топографическая изоляция саммита минимальной ортодромия до точки , равной высоты.
В этой статье значимая вершина определяется как вершина с высотой не менее 100 метров (328,1 футов) топографической выдачи, а большая вершина - как вершина с высотой не менее 500 метров (1640 футов) топографической выдачи. Ультра-видным саммит является саммит, по крайней мере , 1500 метров (4921 футов) топографической известность. В Колорадо есть три выдающихся вершины.
