Дмитрий Шостакович в 1950 году

Дмитрий Шостакович обычно каталогизировал свои сочинения, а иногда и аранжировки на музыку других композиторов с номерами опусов. Он начал эту практику с раннего скерцо фа-диез минор и продолжал до конца своей жизни.
